| | trip to houston | i got to go to houston last week to visit friends and hang out with my friend kelly who was diagnosed with brain cancer this summer. she's doing great & it was so good to see her & her family! TX missed me & wanted me to stay--i was stuck at the Houston airport for 12 dumb hours! good stuff i saw in houston: 1. dolphin in the bay in Galveston 2. the Rice University swimteam having a carwash--10 guys in SPEEDOS! crazy & wrong (but they had a long line of cars) 3. a midget in a top hat, long red coat, and white pants walking by himself downtown. it was awesome. |

| kelli & i were running around town on labor day--having fun. i saw a dealer tag on a liscense plate & couldn't figure it out... i said, "one il honda? one il honda? what does that mean?" thinking it might be a tribute to liscense to ill (beastie boys) after a few seconds of silence, kelli said, "i think its O'Neil Honda" oh... | | |
| so i just performed my first wedding...just, as in they are still in the sanctuary taking pictures! it was super fun! the couple is so great & they were really excited that they were my first.
ok, so as i was typing this entry our wedding coordinator came in & said we'd had an 'incident'. One of the photographers lights exploded, fell, and burned a hole in the carpet! my first wedding and we about burned the church down! he, of course, feels aweful.
off to the reception!! fun times!

| ok xangaworld....i'm back! (hoping for the cheer of the crowd)
this summer has been crazy busy--i moved from the cornfields back to the city & i'm loving it! i do miss the cornfields, but God called me here & i have been more than blessed to be here.
lots & lots of stories to tell--but i need to be working, so i'll be brief.
* i milked a goat this summer * i was a refugee for a night & opted not to eat a boiled rabbit * youth here don't know all my crazy TX camp songs--so i'm a big (crazy hit) or maybe they are just laughing at me "I AM A Cong-Hong-Rong-I-Song-Tong-I-A-Nong" is too much for most here!! * i chopped 10 inches off of my hair * i'm super pumped that kelli moved here--i have a friend in my city!! * the ministry staff here is creating a clogging/riverdance team all due to my mad skills * i've also taught the college kids & the youth here how to do the cotton-eye-joe (sp?) who knew everyone didn't grow up knowing that fab dance?
--in all there has been much dance and much song here & I LOVE IT!!
keep on dancin' on! | | |
